Heads of Aviation Agencies sacked by FG

The heads of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), the Nigerian Civil
Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) have been sacked. Ms. Stella Oduah, minister of Aviation,was removed as a minister about three weeks ago. A statement in Abuja by Mr. Sam Nwaobasi, special assistant on Media to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, stated that Saleh Dumona, director of Projects in the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, is to replace Mr.
George Uriesi as the managing director of FAAN. Also, Ibrahim Abdulsalam, general manager,
Procurements at NAMA to replace Nnamdi Udoh as the managing director. Capt. Akinyele Caulcrick, Government Safety Inspector and International Civil Aviation
Organisation Focal Point for Nigeria on line Aircraft Safety Information Systems, takes over from Capt. Chinyere Kalu as Rector of the
Nigerian College of Aviation Technology. Capt. Muhktar Usman, commissioner, Accident
Investigation and Prevention Bureau, replaces Capt. Fola Akinkuotu as Director-General of NCAA “subject to confirmation by the Senate.”
The statement also contained that Benedict Adeyileka is to act as DG, NCAA pending Usman’s confirmation by the Senate. Dr. Felix A. Abali, director of Licensing in NCAA, is to replace Capt. Muhktar Usman as Commissioner (AIPB).
The trend, however, spared Tony Anuforo who retains his position as director-general of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency.
