POEM: ANOTHER DAY OF THE WEEK

Walking through life’s gentle dream,
Avoiding the harsh rays of reality,
Merry her life may seem,
But it had never held so many promises,
She always told the truth about herself,
Never kept any secrets,
To her life was a roller-coaster that could be so amazing,
She loved to love
But was never loved in return,
She wasn’t a coward
But she couldn’t fight to get what she wanted,
None of them treated her with care,
They all went by branding d words, “who cares”,
They all treated her like just another day of the week
At work people often called her Tuesday,
That was the only day her so called fiancé chose to see her,
Friends thought she was foolish enough to ignore the signs,
Folks thought she had lost her mind,
Her sisters said go girl have some fun,
But be soon to do away with dis punk,
She thought her Tuesdays was like Xmas,
Worth celebrating for,
Until she had to think y he held off on d other days of the week,
Why couldn’t she have him anytime she wants?
Little did she know that Tuesday wasn’t his favorite day
It was Thursday that excited him most,
She decided to set in everyday of d week,
And surprise him with her cooking,
But she got more than surprised herself,
When she saw lover-boy getting jiggy with it,
Did she check back d next day?
She checked back every day for d next 1 month
And found out there were same girls,
Same days of the week,
And the prized one was Thursday,
Then she knew she was defeated,
She was only a consolation prize
And now she knew even good girls get burned...
…..but she decided that never again will she be a day of the week again
