Mountain Dew Partners SPAN for Dance Battle
Encouraging young Nigerians to express themselves in different arts forms especially dance will help empower them to make a decent living like their counterparts in sports and music, Mrs. Sarah Fadoul Boulos, Director, Society of the Performing Arts in Nigeria (SPAN), has said.
She stated this while reviewing the International Dance Organisation (IDO) Dance Battle contest otherwise known as Mountain Dew Dance Battle one of the headline events in this year’s Society of Performing Arts in Nigeria (SPAN) Festival (SPANFEST 2013) at Ocean View Event Centre, Lagos.
Mrs. Boulos said with more corporate organisations involvement in sponsoring of performing arts, young talented Nigerians will be encouraged to make a living from their talent.She thanked Seven-Up Bottling Company for the laudable partnership with SPAN which enabled winners of the dance competition to go home with cash prizes.
In the night of frills and thrills presented in two dance competitions: Salsa and Hip Hop, the duo of Korede Oyelogba and Nneka Obiora won the first prize in Salsa while CUE BASE, a group of six energetic young men won in the Hip Hop category.
